Petrolia Finishes Second In District Volleyball

Petrolia swept Archer City to claim sole possession of second place in District 7-A. The Lady Pirates won 25-19, 25-18, 25-22 in the tiebreaker held at City View High School.

Allie Ablia led Petrolia with 15 kills, while Katelynn Flowers added nine. Brittney Griffith led Archer City with 12 kills.

Both teams will play Bi-District playoff games at Windthorst on Tuesday. Archer City will play Newcastle at 6:00 p.m. and Petrolia will play Perrin-Whitt at 8:00 p.m.

Notre Dame to state

Notre Dame defeated San Antonio Town East Christian 19-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-12 to advance to the state semifinals in TAPPS Class A.

Michelle Fisher led the Lady Knights with 10 kills. The team will play Tyler East Texas at 9:00 a.m. in San Antonio Friday.
