Wichita County Jailer Holds Suspected Burglar At Gunpoint

A Wichita Falls man has been caught trying to break into an off duty Wichita County jailer's home.

The jailer told police she heard glass breaking and saw Stephen Turner, 43, breaking into her children's bedroom window.

The incident happened at the Brentwood Timberline apartments Saturday Evening. She says she fired a shot but missed.

Police arrived to find Turner handcuffed, laying on the ground with the jailer holding him at gunpoint.

Turner told police he is on medicine for epilepsy and was having a bad dream. Police say Turner has no previous convictions for burglary and stated he had no intention of burglarizing the apartment.

Turner is charged with Burglary of a Habitation and held on $100,000 bond.
