Early Voting Ends, Numbers In

Polls have closed for early voting but we do have some results from a few counties.

In Montague three propositions were on the line:

Proposition 1. The legal sale of beer and wine.
proposition 2. The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption only.
proposition 3. The legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only.

More than 1,500 hundred locals cast their votes.

In Wilbarger about 140 voters took advantage of early voting of 6,107 registered in the city limits, and approximately 8,100-8,200 in the county.

City of Vernon proposition authorizing the Business Development Corp. of Vernon to use its section 4A sales and use tax proceeds to encourage new local businesses and help expand existing businesses in Vernon and Wilbarger County by assisting with projects including buildings, equipment, facilities, expenditures, targeted infrastructure, land, and improvements.

In Jack county about 150 voted on two measures:

Measure 1: Authorizing the Board of Trustees of Jacksboro School District to purchase attendance credits from the state with local tax revenues.

Measure 2: Authorizing the Board of Trustees of Jacksboro School District to educate students of other school districts with local tax revenues.

    A Texoma church is preparing for a missions trip to Africa, but a recent financial short fall has put the main purpose of the trip on hold.
