Two Wichita Falls athletes signed letters of intent Wednesday to play at Lone Star Conference schools.

First, Rider High School's Jennifer Sissel signed with the Midwestern State Mustangs to play basketball for coach Noel Johnson next season.

Sissel averaged 10.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in District 4-4A action last season as the Lady Raiders made their first playoff run in 20 years.

She said that being able to play at home factored in her decision.

Just hours later, City View High School's Lacey Taylor signed with West Texas A&M softball for the 2012-2013 school year and the 2013 softball season.

Taylor batted .463 with four home runs last season as the Lady Mustangs made the deepest playoff run in City View history, regardless of sport.

She joins three of her teammates from club softball in Canyon, something she said factored in her decision.

Brazil fans have cheered their team in the first and only meeting with players before they travel to the World Cup in Russia, but many others also complained about the squad's lack of contact with local supporters.
