Eight Children Adopted by Four Families

November is National Adoption Awareness Month. Saturday eight children were celebrating big with a new family. Thousands of children are waiting to be adopted in the state, and that's why through the end of the month match parties and adoptions will highlight the plight of children awaiting a family.

Saturday morning the Honorable Judge Brotherton presided over the adoption of eight children by four families. It took place and the Wichita County Courthouse, and while it was all smiles, those who work in foster care acknowledge it's a daily struggle to find families.

"We have a significant need in our community. In fact in the state of Texas there are over 6,000 children currently available for adoption and our hope is to reach out for families to let them know of that need," said Case Worker Randy Neff. National Adoption Day is Sunday November 20.
