Police Search for Suspect in Motel Shooting

Wichita Falls police are investigating a shooting at the Catalina Motel and Coffee Shop.

According to WFPD SGT. Joe Snyder, a call came in at 7:27am from 1108 E. Scott.

Witnesses told police that two women were fighting with the woman who lives in room 117. The suspect started fighting with them. That's when Police say the victim, Steven Allen Rodriguez, 29, came out of the room. Police say the suspect went to a car and got a handgun and shot Rodriguez in his upper left arm.


The suspect left in what is described as a gray Pontiac Grand-Am wearing a black hoodie. They said the two women in the fight with the resident left with him.

The injury does not appear to be life-threatening. The injured man was transported to United Regional. Police are actively searching for the suspect.
