House Votes To Allow Faster Airport Security Checks For Military Travelers

The House of Representatives voted unanimously to allow military travelers on official duty to get through airport security checks faster.

The bill would give special preference to move through airport security easier.

If the bill becomes law, the earliest military travelers may be troops returning from Afghanistan next year and their family members. The legislation still needs Senate approval.

The government already is expanding a program that allows frequent fliers to keep their shoes, belts and jackets on and leave computers in bags while going through security checks.
