Munday Advances to Title Game with Rout

The Munday Moguls advanced to the Class A Division II State Championship game with a 62-22 rout of #8 Wellington.

After falling behind 8-0 in the first quarter, the Moguls (13-2) scored 62 straight points to build a 62-8 lead before the Skyrockets (13-1) scored a pair of late touchdowns for the final margin.

Munday will face #2 Tenaha in the State Championship Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Tenaha (13-0) defeated Burton 63-28 in the other state semifinal tonight.

Six-Man Championship Saturday

In the 6-Man Division I State Championship, #6 Throckmorton (13-0) will face #1 Borden County (13-1) Saturday at 2 p.m. at Abilene's Shotwell Stadium.

The two had one common opponent this season, the Valley Patriots. Throckmorton beat Valley 65-62 in the season opener for both teams, and Borden County beat the Patriots 61-56 last week in the state semifinals.

The website sixmanfootball.com has Borden County as a 16-point favorite, based on computer rankings.
