Davis, #2 Tenaha Run Past Moguls for Title

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Quarterback Reginald Davis ran for 242 yards and two touchdowns, passed for 226 yards and three TDs and returned a punt 80 yards for a score as #2 Tenaha beat Munday, 52-28, and won the Class 1A Division II title.

Tenaha scored 21 unanswered points to open the second half, including touchdowns off two turnovers, in front of 5,592 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington Thursday night.

Davis, who has committed to Texas Tech, was the game's Offensive Most Valuable Player. He was 10 of 21 passing and accounted for 548 all-purpose yards for the 14-0 Tigers.

The state championship is Tenaha's second, having won the 1998 Class 1A crown.

Junior quarterback Dee Paul had 146 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the 13-3 Moguls, who played for the school's third championship and second since 2007.

Junior running back Tyrone Neskorik scored Munday's other two touchdowns.
