Wichita Falls Police Officer Indicted For Assaulting Wife

Wichita Falls Police Officer Gerald Tony Morgan was indicted by a Wichita County Grand Jury for assaulting his wife.

He is on administrative leave and facing felony charges after an incident in December.

Wichita Falls police said they responded to the 5100 block of Jamaica Drive on a disturbance call Saturday, December 17th.

Morgan's wife told police she and Morgan got into an argument over her medication and at one point during the argument, Morgan pushed her causing her to fall over into a 10-year-old girl. She also said Morgan assaulted a 15-year-old boy when the boy demanded back her medication.

She alleges he grabbed the boy's throat and slammed him against the wall. When she attempted to get between the two, Morgan allegedly threw her and struck her in the throat and forearm.

She also said, when she was being assaulted by Morgan, Morgan struck a 10-year-old girl who attempted to pull Morgan off her.

Morgan has since been placed on administrative leave. The Office of Professional Conduct and Wichita Falls detectives are investigating the case.  Morgan has been a part of WFPD since 1999.

He is charged with assault family violence, felony injury to a child and felony choking.

He is currently out on $22,000 in total bonds.
