Make A Wish is Getting a Very Generous Donation From ASCO

This year 545 children with life threatening medical conditions living in North Texas will be granted a wish. Make A Wish Foundation is partnering with one Texas company who has a business in Wichita Falls. Associated Supply Company is handing over an $85,000 donation check.

Employees from the ASCO Wichita Falls store gathered for a lunch and check presentation. The check was presented to Make A Wish Foundation North Texas.

Every day Make A Wish Foundation North Texas receives wish referrals from children dealing with life threatening medical conditions. This year Make A Wish is getting some very generous donations. Jon Reynolds, Branch Manager of ASCO Wichita Falls says, "We consider it a privilege to be able to do something that can help people in this community."

This year Make A Wish Foundation North Texas was the companies charity of choice. Each ASCO branch within Texas raised the funds, bringing the total donation amount to $85,000.

Megan Szydloski with Make A Wish North Texas says there are a handful of wish children in Wichita Falls. She says granting each one of those children's wishes would mean the world to them and get their minds off of their illness. "Those memories that they have from the wish as opposed to memories of sitting in doctors office, being poked by a needle, or treatment centers. That's what we do it for. To create those good memories for these families."

The smiles and memories that come from granting that child's one wish is what has ASCO employees getting ready for Christmas. Ready with warm hearts and inspired to continue to give to those in need.

Make A Wish Foundation North Texas says there are four types of wishes a child can ask for.
The wish to go, be, have, or meet. The average cost of each wish is about $7,000.
