Man Charged With Aggravated Assault Of A Public Servant

James Corrigan has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Of A Public Servant December 15, 2011.

Officers responded to a check welfare call on the 400 block of Willow St.

When police arrived, they say a blue pick-up pulled into the driveway and James Corrigan got up and ran toward the house. The arrest affidavit says an officer ordered Corrigan to stop and Corrigan turned toward the officer and pulled a pistol from the waist of his pants. The report says Corrigan pointed the gun at the officers and said "Just shoot me. Please kill me." According to the document, Corrigan then pointed the pistol around several times, and then raised in the officer's direction several times. Police say Corrigan then complied with the officer's orders and dropped to his knees and threw the pistol away from himself.

Police say the pistol was loaded when they recovered it.
