Sheppard Holds "Marriage Day"

Sheppard Air Force Base welcomed in a new bunch of married airmen. Every year when all the airmen and women leave at Holiday Exodus dozens come back married. That's why Sheppard Air Force Base holds marriage day. The new families get enrolled in a medical program, receive a finance briefing and have their benefits explained to them all in one location at the same time. A newly married couple Newschannel 6 spoke with says this briefing was the perfect timing.

"It's been a long time coming now. Figured it had to get done sooner or later, so sooner better than later," said Avery Keith. This event also allows civilian spouses to form support groups and lasting friendships. Sheppard reports between 120 and 150 airmen tied the knot.
