City of Wichita Falls Wins The Altus Award

The city of Wichita Falls won the Altus award Thursday for their support of Sheppard Air Force Base.

Kay Yeager, Chairman of the Sheppard Military Affairs Committee, said the Altus award was established last year by the Altus, Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce to give this trophy each year to the community that has the best base community relations within the air education and training command.

Tom Whaylen, President of the Sheppard Military Affairs Committee, said although the city of Wichita Falls won the award, it was accepted on behalf of all the cities that support Sheppard AFB through SMAC.
