This past spring Denton Ryan was one goal better than the Wichita Falls Lady Coyotes in the Region I-4A girls' soccer final.
On Monday it was a similar result.
Ryan scored with the wind in the first half and held the WFHS offense mostly in check in a 1-0 victory at Memorial Stadium.
Ryan's Stevie Harris, who is verbally committed to Midwestern State, scored the only goal of the match on a free kick with 14:57 remaining in the first half.
Ryan, playing with a strong wind at their backs, dominated the run of play in the first half, controlling the ball for all but a few of the first 40 minutes.
The Lady Coyotes kept it a little more even in the second half with the wind, but were unable to equalize, as Denton Ryan's Regan Dowling recorded the shutout.
