Deadly Car Accident on Seymour Highway

A deadly accident early this morning claims the life of a Holliday man.  The two vehicle accident happened around 1 a.m. on Seymour Highway just west of Parker Ranch Road heading towards Holliday.

Department of Public Safety says 37-year old Peter Towles was driving a Cadillac Escalade when he rear ended a flatbed eighteen wheeler.

DPS says Towels, a father of four was declared dead at the scene of the accident this morning.

This afternoon the scene is much quieter, but remnants from the accident still lye along the busy road.

Troopers say the driver of the eighteen wheeler was slowing down to turn into a business drive to make a deliver when Towles rear ended him.  The driver of the eighteen wheeler was not injured.

Business owners located off of Seymour Highway mention how dangerous this stretch of road is.  Cars speed up and down these lanes and with vehicles turning in and out of business driveways, business owners say this road is accident prone.

Wichita Falls firefighters responded to the accident and extracted Towels from his vehicle.  His body was taken to the County Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
