Jim Garfield will have to wait a little less to be back on the sidelines coaching.

Rider's head football coach has been named the head coach for the Texas team in the 75th annual Oil Bowl.

He'll be joined by coaches from Stamford and Burleson.

Garfield led Rider to a 10-4 record last season before the Raiders fell in the state quarterfinals.

Texas won last year's Oil Bowl 17-14 in overtime. This year's game is set for June 9 at Memorial Stadium.
