Vaccination Law Changes

Kids who are covered by health insurance that covers immunizations may no longer get shots at the Wichita Falls Wichita County Public Health District clinic. Funding cuts are behind the move. Those with insurance must now go to their primary care doctor.

"Children that come into the health clinic now that are fully covered with private insurance - meaning their insurance pays for all their vaccinations - will need to go back to their primary care to receive their vaccinations," said Kay Sabine, RN.

If you have insurance that does not cover immunizations you can still use the clinic as normal. Health District officials want to get the message across well ahead of the August back to school shot rush so parents have plenty of time to plan.
