Accidental Death At A Playground

Wichita Falls police say a five year old girl accidentally hung herself.

Police were dispatched to 5500 Profession Drive on an accidental hanging Thursday afternoon.

First responders arrived on scene and found the five year old was playing with a jump rope on playground equipment.

Responders say the child became entangled in the jump rope and was found hanging by the neck.

The child was transported to United Regional, but could not be resuscitated.

Detectives responded to the scene and found no evidence of foul play.

The child's body will be sent to the Tarrant County Coroner's Office for autopsy.
