Wichita Falls Man Accused Of Injuring A Child

A Texoma man is facing injury to a child charges.

Wichita Falls police responded to a family disturbance on Thaten Drive on January 14th.

Officers spoke to a mother of a one year old who claimed her boyfriend, Andrew Michael Johnson, caused injury to her child. Officers noticed bruising to the child's face and head.

The mother told police she went to work and left her child in Johnson's care. She said she received text messages from Johnson, saying he spanked the child and that the one year old fell in the bathtub and hit his head.

The mother also told police the next day she was surprised her child had not waken up yet. She went to the bedroom and said her baby was lethargic. When she went to change his diaper, the child had severe bruising.

She told police she confronted Johnson and he said he disciplined the child for tearing up his diaper.

Johnson was arrested and is being held on $30,000 bond in Wichita County Jail.
