New Businesses Coming to Town

New businesses are calling Wichita Falls home.  El Fenix, a Dallas area restaurant opened it's doors in town just this week.

The first business to open its doors at the renovated Faith Village shopping center drew crowds this afternoon.  El Fenix is the first location to come from the Dallas area in quite some time.

"Over the years we grew in different areas.  We were in Long View, we were in Oklahoma City, we were in Houston.  We shrunk it back into the Metroplex about 20-15 years ago," says John McBride of El Fenix.

But the owner of the restaurant thought now would be the perfect time to branch back out, starting right here.

"He owns this strip center and his goal was always to put an El Fenix here and we thought the timing was right and we thought Wichita Falls was the perfect market to bring El Fenix to," McBride says.

He says it's the people and the recent growth of the city that made the choice to bring the business in Wichita Falls so simple and they aren't the only ones who think so.  A few doors down four other businesses are preparing to open.  Palm Beach Tan, Jersey Mike's Subs, TCBY Frozen Yogurt and Smash Burger are expected to open their doors later this month or in the first part of March.

With the number of costumers who turned out today to welcome El Fenix to Texoma, it looks to be making the way for other businesses coming soon.

"We've been open for two days, this is our third day. If the first two days are any indication, we think its going to be a great relationship here in Wichita Falls.  We just hope to be here a very, very long time," says McBride.
