Rider, WFHS Soccer Postponed by Lightning

A pair of WFISD soccer games down in the DFW Metroplex were postponed or shortened by lightning Friday night.

The Rider Raiders were leading defending state champion Frisco Wakeland 1-0 in the fifteenth minute at Pizza Hut Park when lightning came too close to the stadium to continue.

It is unclear at this time whether the game will be resumed with the score maintained, or if it will start over.

Colton Kowalick had scored his first goal of the season, if it stands.

In nearby Lake Dallas, the Wichita Falls High School girls trailed 2-1 with about 30 minutes remaining in the second half when the lightning came, ending the game.
