Wichita Falls Looking At $100k In Golf Course Improvements

This Tuesday the Wichita Falls City Council will consider appropriating just over $105,000 for golf course improvements to the Champions Course at Weeks Park.
Three projects are included in the plan councilors will be looking at.
The16th green needs to be renovated after settling and becoming  almost un-playable.
The second project will renovate the course bunkers.
The third is, construction of a chipping green near the club house and pro shop.
City staff says all three projects will improve the course for even the average golfer.
The City Council will also look at spend $65,000 to purchase their current fleet of leased golf carts.
Officials feel buying the carts, and owning them would save around $30,000 as opposed to returning the current carts and getting a new leased set with a new lease agreement.
Councilors take up these proposals on Tuesday morning at 8:30 in City Council Chambers at Municipal Auditorium.
Newschannel 6 will be at that meeting and bring you an update when it happens.
