Rivalries Renewed This Week

Several rivalry games help wrap up the final weeks of high school basketball across Texoma.

Old High and Rider face off in District 4-4A. The Coyotes need a win to help any chance of a playoff berth, while Rider's playing for pride and looking to avoid a winless district season.

The Lady Raiders have locked up the second seed in the district. Rider will look to top the Lady Coyotes for the third time this season.

On Friday, No. 11 Burkburnett and No. 15 Hirschi will battle it out in Texoma's premiere basketball rivalry. The Huskies won the first matchup at home 80-72 on Jan. 24. The game will most likely decide the winner of District 6-3A.

No. 5 Olney and No. 22 Seymour will also meet up in a rematch from Jan. 24 in District 10-A Div. I. The Cubs topped the Panthers big 72-53 at home. The Panthers will look to give Olney only its second loss of the season.
