Hirschi's Sheppard Signs with Wayland

Hirschi wide receiver and safety Brandon Sheppard signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play football for Wayland Baptist University's startup program.

The Pioneers will bring back varsity football this fall after over 70 years without it, playing a 10-game schedule.

Sheppard joins six other Texoma athletes in Plainview, including City View's D.J. Brown, who will hold his signing ceremony on Thursday.

Sheppard was named all-District 6-3A at both receiver and safety this fall.

On Wednesday he told Newschannel 6 he hopes he is the first of many Husky football players headed to the next level the next few years,

He also said he hopes to meet up with his new teammates during the summer to train and build chemistry.
