City View's D.J. Brown continued the caravan from Texoma to Plainview, becoming the seventh area football player to sign with the upstart Wayland Baptist football program this month.
Brown officially signed on National Signing Day, but was ill at the time, so he delayed his signing ceremony until Thursday.
As a senior at City View, D.J. ran the ball 151 times for 1,645 yards and 24 touchdowns, on his way to being named Honorable Mention All-State.
He was also the District 3-2A Div. II Offensive Player of the Year.
He contributed on defense, with 75 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a senior.
He returned nine kickoffs for touchdowns in his high school career.
He joins Burkburnett's Jake Barker, Iowa Park's Kelby Tucker, Wichita Falls High School's Chance Garey, Rider's C.J. House and T.K. Cuttino, and Hirschi's Brandon Sheppard on the Pioneer's roster this fall.
WBU will play its first season of football in over 70 years this fall, with their first game set for Sept. 1 in San Antonio against Monterrey (Mex.) Tech.
