MSU to Host Holiday Inn at the Falls Invitational

Midwestern State plays host to the three-day, six-team, 15-game Holiday Inn at the Falls Invitational this weekend with games played at Mustangs Park and Burkburnett High School Field.
 
MSU opens play Friday afternoon against Lone Star Conference foe Abilene Christian at Mustangs Park. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
 
Three games are set for BHS Field on Friday as Fort Hays State plays Texas A&M International at 3 p.m. followed by Arkansas Tech and Fort Hays State at 6 p.m. and Texas A&M International and Missouri at 8 p.m.
 
Midwestern State (6-3) is coming off of a strong 4-1 showing at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Invitational last weekend.
 
Senior third baseman Mallory Mooney garnered tournament MVP honors going 11-of-18 at the plate (.611) with two doubles and a homer while driving in nine runs.
 
She was joined on the all-tournament team by junior outfielder Courtney Bingham (.556, 2 2B, 1 3B, 7 runs) and sophomore designated player Courtney Ford (.357, 2 HR, 6 RBI).
 
Freshman southpaw Lindsi Glenn leads the team in the circle posting a 5-2 mark with a 2.48 ERA. The Healdton, Okla. native has pitched 42 1/3 innings this far this season allowing 15 earned on 47 hits with 16 strikeouts and eight walks.
 
Games continue Saturday with three contests at each facility at 11 a.m., 1 and 4 p.m. The tournament wraps up Sunday with a pair of games at Mustangs Park (10 a.m. and Noon) and three games at BHS Field (10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.).
