Deadly Motorcycle Accident Lawsuit

A deadly motorcycle accident civil lawsuit was settled in Wichita Falls.

Police said Adana Helcamp hit and killed Douglas Novak, 55, with her car. The accident happened September 17, 2010 in the 2700 block of Southwest Pkwy. Novack was riding his motorcycle at the time of the accident.

Police said Helcamp was making a left hand turn out of Parkway Grill's parking lot when she hit Novack. He was seriously injured and died eight days later.

The civil lawsuit was settled for $1,250,000. The settlement will allow Mrs. Novack to fund her kids' education. Douglas Novack was the breadwinner of the family.

Novack worked for Time Warner Cable and took the day off for his birthday. Helcamp was not criminally tried or arrested.
