Man Accused Of Assaulting An Officer

A Wichita Falls man is behind bars. Police arrested and charged Paul Thomas Geiger with assault by choking, resisting arrest and assault on a public official.

Officers said Geiger assaulted a woman Sunday, February 26, in the 2200 block of Humphrey. Police said when they responded to the assault call, Geiger slammed the door and screamed he was not going to jail.

The victim told police Geiger poured beer on her, slapped her and attempted to choke her. Police said when they went to arrest Geiger, he resisted.

Officers said Geiger got a hold of a female officer and put her in a choke hold. Police said as Geiger was getting pulled away, he kneed the officer in the stomach. After a struggle, officers were able to arrest him.
