Mustang Men, Women Ready for Allen

Men Start vs Commerce

#5 Midwestern State opens Lone Star Conference postseason tournament play against Wednesday night against Texas A&M-Commerce at the Allen (Texas) Event Center. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m.

The top-seeded Mustangs bring a 23-3 mark after claiming a share of its sixth conference title, while Texas A&M-Commerce (10-16) has ridden a three-game winning streak into the postseason.

The winner moves on to face the winner of the Incarnate Word and Cameron first round matchup Friday night at 8:30 p.m. The Cardinals and Aggies square off in Wednesday evening's other quarterfinal matchup at 6 p.m.

In other quarterfinal play, No. 3 West Texas A&M plays No. 6 Eastern New Mexico at noon on Wednesday while No. 7 Tarleton State and No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville follow at 2:30 p.m.

The postseason tournament title game is set for Saturday at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 dollars per session or $60 for an all-session ticket that includes admission to the four men's sessions as well. Student tickets are $10 per session or $32 for an all-session admission. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets, at Ticketmaster.com or at the Allen Event Center box office.

Women Open vs UIW

The Midwestern State Mustangs carry the number three seed into the Lone Star Conference Tournament when the 2012 women's tournament opens on Thursday in Allen.
 
The Mustangs (19-7, 15-5) face the sixth seed Incarnate Word (14-12, 9-11) in the first game of the women's tournament at noon on Thursday at the Allen Event Center.
 
Following MSU in the afternoon quarterfinal session on Thursday is third seed West Texas A&M and seventh seed and defending LSC Champ Texas Woman's at 2:30.
 
The evening quarterfinal session Thursday pits fourth seed Cameron against fifth seed Angelo State at 6 p.m., while top seed and 2012 LSC Champion Tarleton State takes on eighth seed Eastern New Mexico at 8:30.
 
The tournament's semifinals are Saturday afternoon with the winner of the MSU-UIW game meeting the winner of the WT-TWU contest at noon.  The CU-ASU winner faces the TSU-ENMU winner at 2:30.
 
The 2012 LSC Tournament Championship Game is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. featuring the semifinal winners.
