New Precincts Added To Wichita County Voting Map

The Wichita County Commissioners Court approved the addition of two new precincts to the counties voting map Monday, March 5th.

County Clerk Lori Bohannon said the new precincts are needed because of a mistake on the previous map. The old map had a precinct overlay school lines. The court decided to split that district in half and add a new precinct.

There are now a total of 59 precincts in Wichita County.

The addition will not effect voting ballots, there will still be 35 boxes.

Also, the county officials said the change should not delay the upcoming county voting dates.
