The Wichita Falls Wildcats need every point they can get at this stage in the season.

Friday night they lost out on two crucial points in a 3-2 home loss to Odessa at the Kay Yeager Coliseum.

The loss coupled with Corpus Christi's 5-2 win at New Mexico puts Wichita Falls ten points behind the Ice Rays with just eight games to play.

Patrick Yudez and Zach Pochiro scored for the Wildcats, while the Jackalopes got goals from Darren Lapic, Tyller Robert and Alex Ostrowski, who netted the game-winner with 2:04 to play.

In a statistical oddity, all five goals in the game were unassisted.

Jo Jo Jeanetta stopped 27 of 30 shots in the loss, while Odessa's Connor Hellebucyk made 29 saves on 31 shots to pick up the win.

The teams will meet again Saturday night at 7:05 at the Kay Yeager Coliseum.
