Jobs on the Menu

More jobs are on the way to Texoma. Several new restaurants will soon open its doors to the community.

Construction is in full swing and doors are getting ready to open very soon. Jereme Nelson, General Manager of Smashburger Wichita Falls, said, "It seems like there's a lot of stuff going up around here. When this place starts to grow, then we will grow with it."

Nelson said Smashburger in total will hire approximately 35 employees. "There's a lot of room for growth with this company." Nelson added, "We're excited to get some new people in and start training them."

Smashburger is owned by the franchise group, Lone Star Restaurants. The franchise group also owns Jersey Mikes Subs and TCBY Yogurt, which are going in right next door to Smashburger. Between the three restaurants nearly 80 jobs are available to Texomans.

They are not the only new restaurants giving the falls a try. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is also planting some roots and looking to hire.

Clay Stockton, Owner of Dickey's Barbecue Pit, said, "It's very exciting to bring jobs into Wichita Falls and keep everything local." Stockton is looking to hire Texomans and bring on ten employees.

Restaurant officials say Smashburger is set to open March 28th, and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is set to open the first week of April. Jersey Mikes Subs plans to open its doors April 4th.
