Camp Fire USA'S 102nd Birthday Celebration

Camp Fire USA North Texas Council celebrated 102 years, Thursday with a big birthday blowout. From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Camp Fire's Council President, Jerry Taylor and Executive Director, Bettye Ricks played host to hundreds of Camp Fire Boys and Girls and their leaders.

The festivities included:

  • Pony rides, provided by Ponies 2 You
  • Moon Walk
  • Face Painting done by "Pepper" the Clown and Kevin Goldstein
  • Brady Krumpler's Freight wagon tour of Harrell Park and Lucy Park
  • Cotton Candy and popcorn provided by The Sunrise Optimist Club

Artie Woods and McGruff were there to celebrate with the kids, along with Leanne and Jay Cottrell and their chickens, goose and turkey.

Members of the Camp Fire Board and Advisory Board topped it off with several large cakes decorated with red and blue balloons and "Happy Birthday Camp Fire".
