Two Men Arrested For Texas Moving Company Scheme

HOUSTON (AP) - Two men are charged in Houston with running a scam moving company that's victimized at least 20 people in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin.

Harris County court records show 37-year-old Anthony Fanelli and 33-year-old Andy Bueno ran ads online offering inexpensive moves and then held customers' goods hostage when they inflated the prices and customers couldn't or wouldn't pay.

The pair is charged with securing execution of document by deception.

The Houston Chronicle reports Friday that Bueno would pose as the moving crew foreman, pressure customers to quickly sign and then fill in blank portions of the invoice himself. Once the goods were loaded, customers got a much higher bill and were forced to negotiate or trade some household items in exchange for the inflated fee.
