Politicians In MSU Roundtable Discussion

Midwestern State University faculty and students, and the Wichita Falls community, were invited to talk about political issues with a few well-known Texas Politicians.

Congressman Mac Thornberry, Wichita Falls Mayor Glenn Barham, and former Texas Representative David Farabee took part in the roundtable discussion, Tuesday, at MSU's Akin Auditorium. It was part of Midwestern State University's annual Prof. Edwards Discussions in Politics Series.

They talked about the importance of service and active citizenship in a functioning democracy and important current issues facing the campus, city, state, country, and world.

The program, honoring longtime political science professor Dr. Michael Flavin, provided a firsthand understanding of the political world as well as the importance of involvement in a democratic society.

The series was named in honor of Atticus F. "Prof" Edwards, who taught political science classes at MSU from 1923 to 1958 and served on the Board of Regents in the early 1990s.
