Texoma Mother Indicted On Endangering A Child Charge

A Texoma mother has been indicted on an Endangering a Child charge.

Montague County Grand Jury indicted Amber Crail on Monday, May 14.

Crail's boyfriend, Michael Montgomery, was accused of injuring her then 6 week old baby while he was babysitting. Police said Montgomery admitted to hurting the child.  

Bowie PD Detective Sherry Stone said, "The injuries are more severe than shaken baby. The mother was not home at the time, and Montgomery is not the father."

Police said Crail waited two days before taking the baby to Wise Regional Hospital for seizure like symptoms. The child was then transported to Cook Children's Hospital, where officials contacted Bowie police.

Stone said, "The symptoms didn't show until the night before (the child was taken to the hospital). There were no marks on the child; they were internal injuries. (The baby's) doing well. CPS said she's doing real well today at Cook's."

Montgomery is known to police. Crail does not have a criminal history.

    A new communications tower being proposed in Wichita Falls is raising concerns. One local business owner fears the tower will scare away visitors driving along the highway. The proposed location is currently 1212 Broad Street, near the Motel 6 off 12th Street.  The communications tower is expected to be nearly 165 feet high, and is located near several business and the overpass.
