Road Realignment Aims for Fall Finish

A major construction project in Wichita Falls is scheduled to be completed by early to mid-October.

Bulldozers are already rolling at the Rhea/Lawrence/Callfield Road intersection.  Starting next Monday, April 16th, residents will be encouraged to avoid the intersection because it could cause possible delays.

The realignment project is an effort to ease traffic and confusion by eliminating one traffic light and allowing Lawrence Road to pass directly to one intersection.

The right west bound lane of Callfield at Rhea Road will temporarily be closed to accommodate construction. The north bound lane of Lawrence at Callfield road could also close.

City officials advise anyone who must travel through the intersection to reduce their speed and drive carefully.
