100 Year Flight Anniversary

Saturday evening the city celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the first time an aircraft took off and flew from Wichita Falls. Representatives from the Historical Society did a lot of research on this story. They determined that the first flight took place by a member of the Moisant Aviation touring group on April 14, of 1912. Costumed re-enatcors and radio controlled aircraft helped commemorate this significant anniversary. Two members of the touring group performed to a large number of people who traveled from all parts of North Texas and Oklahoma to see their airplane take to the skies.
