Rider Raiders Head to State

The Rider Raider soccer team departed for the Class 4A State Tournament Thursday morning.

They headed down to Georgetown, where they will face Mount Pleasant in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday.

The Raiders are 27-2 on the season with 24 of those wins coming by shutout.

In the playoffs they have not been scored upon, outscoring five opponents by a 12-0 combined score.

Their opponents, the Mount Pleasant Tigers, come in with a record of 20-2-6, and recorded 21 shutouts on the year, including a scoreless draw.

Mount Pleasant outscored their five playoff opponents 7-0 after winning District 29-4A.

The winner of this game will face the winner of San Antonio Alamo Heights and Friendswood at 6 p.m. Saturday. The other semifinal will follow Rider's game around 6 p.m. Friday.
