Authorities Need Help Contacting Deceased Man's Family

The Wichita Falls Police department needs help contacting the family of a man found dead inside a burning Wichita Falls home.

Authorities discovered the body of Joseph Bassett inside the burning home on the 1600 block of Garfield St. Friday, April 20th. Authorities said the 75-year-old intentionally set the home on fire, then took his own life.

Police now need your help contacting the next of kin. Bassett was not married and had no children. If you have any information on Bassett's family, you are urged to contact Officer Rick Cullar (940) 761-7762.

Newschannel 6 does not normally cover instances of suicide, but, with the request of the police department, we are assisting them with this case.
