Deadly Rollover Accident Injures Toddler

A Texoma woman is dead and a toddler is in the hospital following a rollover accident in Wichita County.

DPS Trooper Tony Fulton said an 80-year-old woman driving a Jeep Cherokee along U.S. 287 near Rifle Range Road crossed the median around 3:30 p.m. He said she then over-corrected, lost control of her Jeep, ran it off the road, and flipped it over. It landed upside down.

Fulton said a three-year-old toddler was in a car seat during the crash. The toddler was hanging upside down in the Jeep when Troopers arrived on scene.

Both were transported to United Regional. The 80-year-old died. . The 3-year-old is fine and recovering. Newschannel 6 is waiting to release the identity of the victim until next of kin has been notified.

Traffic was closed down to one lane as crews worked the scene.
