Health Kids Day - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Health Kids Day

Saturday morning was a time of learning and activity at the Wichita Falls YMCA. Healthy Kids Day was celebrated across more than 1,900 YMCA's across the country.

It's an initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids by offering fun activities like zumba and basketball to get children moving.

"We really want to promote youth in activities. Getting them healthy, getting them active as a young adult. That's what we're really trying to bring. We're also introducing everybody to some of the programs we have to offer this summer. We have a lot of good things going on at the YMCA. A lot of activities for the young and we want to make sure the community is aware of that," said Brandon Brown.

Parents also came away with educational tools that were handed out to inform them on how to help improve their child's lifestyle for the long term.
