Fuel Spill Closes Wichita Falls Fly Over

A fuel spill Monday, May 7, closed down the Loyd Ruby Overpass for a couple hours.

Wichita Falls police said a saddle tank on a truck ruptured and spilled a large amount of diesel fuel on the roadway around 11 a.m.

Crews closed down the southbound lanes of the overpass, while crews worked to clean up the spill.

While crews cleaned the scene, traffic was diverted to U.S. 82. The overpass was opened again around 1:45 p.m.

There were no injuries reported from the spill.
