New Principal Takes On Notre Dame

WICHITA FALLS, TX -Notre Dame Catholic School has a new principal. Douglas E. Jones has been appointed principal of the Wichita Falls school.

School officials said the new man on campus has had a diversified and noteworthy career preparing for this job.

He first worked as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army. He left the Army as a Major who did combat service in the Persian Gulf War.

After leaving the military, Jones began his career as a Catholic school educator. He was a chemistry teacher and IT manager at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory in Montgomery, Alabama. He briefly served as a computer network engineer for the State of Alabama, Department of Public Safety.

Jones then returned to Catholic education and served as:

  • Principal of Montgomery Catholic, Director of Academic Support at St. John Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio
  • Theology Department Chair at Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon, Ohio
  • Dean of Discipline at Our Lady of Grace High School in Roanoke, Texas
  • Dean of Students at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, for the past two years.

Jones also has a long list of educational experience from all over the east coast. He holds a BS in chemistry from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and an MSBA in business administration from Boston University.

He has done additional graduate work in educational leadership at Alabama A & M and theology and Christian ministry from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

Jones will take on his new role by July 1st.
