Drivers with a need for speed now have more of a chance to push their pedal to the metal.
TxDOT is installing 75mph signs, Thursday morning, on I-44, boosting the speed limit by 5 miles.
The Texas Transportation Commission approved the action in January, but it couldn't go into effect until the new signs were posted.
Northbound and Southbound signs are now up, which means feel free to crank the odometer to no more than 75mph.
The rest of the signs should be posted within two weeks.
I-44 in Texas is an 11-mile stretch that runs from about Eighth Street in Wichita Falls to north of Burkburnett at the state line.
