The Wichita Falls City Council will be taking a step on Tuesday in an effort to keep Sheppard Air Force Base growing in Texoma.
Councilors are expected to approve a grant for more than $292,000 that would be used for a Joint Land Use Study. That study looks at possible conflicts in base expansion when it comes to land. The study will look at Sheppard and the Auxiliary Air Field in Frederick for possible expansion.
Councilors will also be getting an update on the levels at lakes Arrowhead and Kickapoo. Those lakes are close to the mark for Stage 2 in the Drought Warning.
