Braum's Burns

A popular ice cream and burger chain in Wichita Falls is temporarily shut down after it went up in flames Thursday morning.

The Wichita Falls Fire Depratment was called to Braum's on Jacksboro highway around 6:30.

Newschannel 6 was at the scene as Wichita Falls firefighters battled the flames. The fire was extinguished just after 7 a.m.

Officials said, "Don't buy any burgers from here, today."

The store is currently closed while officials assess the damage. The store's district manager said a decision hasn't been made about when it will reopen. For now, all the employees have been redistributed to other stores in Wichita Falls.

Assistant Marshal Antoinette Hastings said Braum's staff was at the site at the time, but no one was injured. She said grease didn't cause the fire and it's not suspicious. She wouldn't say what caused it.

Newschannel 6 has calls in to find out more about the structure fire, and how long the fast food resturant will be closed. We'll have more information on what caused the blaze as soon as we get it.
