Use 8956.org To Get Your Kids Kindergarten Ready

The North Texas Area United Way has started 8956.org to help get kids ready for kindergarten.

8956.org is an effort to help change the lives of every child younger than 5 in Wichita County by ensuring each child is school ready when they enter kindergarten. If a child is not ready to learn in kindergarten, he or she is less likely to be reading on level by the end of 3rd grade.

If a child is not reading on level by the end of 3rd grade, he or she is considerably less likely to graduate high school.

United Way pledges to provide parents, early childhood professionals, businesses and community leaders the resources needed to help in this fight.
