Kiwanis Park Limb Disposal Closed-Transfer Station Opening

WICHITA FALLS, Texas- Residents continue to try to use the tree and brush disposal site that was established at Kiwanis Park even though it has been closed since the 11th.

Citizens can begin using the Transfer Station again beginning Thursday, June 14th.

The station will operate on their regular schedule, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents can bring their limbs and brush to the Transfer Station as well as traditionally accepted materials.

Residents can also help in the city's recycling effort by bringing the following items to the station:

  • Glass
  • Newspapers
  • Metal products such as:
    • siding
    • chair frames
    • piping
    • shelves
    • engine blocks
    • cans 
  • Appliances such as:
    • stoves
    • washers
    • dryers

Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are only accepted at the landfill where a certified technician can remove the freon.

The City of Wichita Falls sincerely appreciates and encourages any participation citizens can offer with recycling programs. Go to the city's website for complete details on the City's recycling efforts.
